Digital Design Realisation
I made these silouettes individually on Illustrator, I was really happy with them that I used them on the bottom of my website. Im opened them in flash animation and repeated them over and over so it was a moving banner on each of my pages on my website. This looked really effective!I really like this line drawing below and it was one of the easiest things to do, I just did an outline. copy and pasted it a few times then layered them up to give it depth and altered the colour. I think it works really well.

Design Realisation Techniques
I was very excited but very daunted to learn more CAD programmes. In this module we learnt, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash animation. I feel I really benefitted from this module and feel a lot more confident to just go on the computer and play around with different things. I was really happy with my website and found this and flash were my strongest parts. I found illustrator the hardest but I think this is because there is so much you can do with it. I am definitely going to carry on learning this programmes.

LITHUAINIA DEC 2010
As an assistant designer for the Label KELLY EWING, I had the amazing opportunity of flying to Lithuania to see my designs been made.
This was such a fantastic experience to see the production processes manufactured in a factory
Can cut upto 50 layers at a time with electronic cutting machine.
The workers in the factory. (Works as a conveyor belt system as they each do a bit of the garment and pass it along.)
I have learnt so much on this trip and I feel like I know alot more about the processes that happen throughout the manufacture of a garment.

Leeds Fashion Show: Dress Me Beautiful...
I was very lucky to be helping Kelly Ewing at Leeds Fashion Show. The Charity event was a very successful night for Kelly Ewing as she showcased her current season collection and also the 2 outfits of Kelly's that had won York Races - Ladies Day for 2 consecutive years.
We also scouted a model from the night to model the next shoot for S/S11 and Bridalwear which is Kellys newest collection...

GRADUATE FASHION WEEK.
LANDAN TOWWN!
It is the capital England. It is the capital of Fashion.
Whilst in London for graduate fashion week, I also looked round the shops and just general day to day fashion from people on the streets. Camden inspired me as there wasnt 'one trend' to follow. Everyone had imputted their own style into their outfits. AMAZING.
Above are a few pictures from Liverpool John Moore University's Fashion Show and Nottingham Trents Fashion Show. Just a few of my favourite.
From been in london, I was inspired so much that I am going back to do more exhibitions and see more shows!

I had to research Promotional packages for my 3rd year as they are finishing their final collection. This also came in handy for my crafts package for Interdisciplinary as it gave me an insight into what other designers use for their package.

NEW DESIGNER I HAVE COME ACROSS
Having researching designers for my module I came across this designer which I really like.
He started off at a hair-dresser specialising in hair extensions and weaves which then gradually tranformed into fashion designing but still using hair.
He styles many people such as the legend that is GAGA!

Day of the Dead Photoshoot
10th May 2010
3rd Year Photoshoot
I helped with Edric's Photoshoot, I really like how he had planned his photoshoot, as his collection was on "Day of the Dead" where you celebrate the death of a loved one, he wanted the photoshoot to look like a party with lots of balloons fun and laughter. HE THEN DRAGGED ME INTO THE PICTURES. OH OHHHHHH!
There was no strict direction or staged posing which worked really well to suit his collection.
The photoshoot should always compliment the collection.
A formal, staged photoshoot wouldnt have worked as well!!!

Edric asked me to sew his fabric onto the tshirts... So I cracked on. I sewed 3 tshirts which he was really happy about.
You can't print on to jersey that well as it cracks!!! And thats why he did it that way round!
Edric worked doing the embroidery on domestic sewing machine. I found this really interesting as ive never seen it been done before. And now I know I can use it some of my designs.
Things I haved learnt:
- Pressure can be a good thing - It sometimes makes you make descisions a lot quicker.
- Building a good relationship with people you work with is very important, as I have helped my 3rd year I know they would help me if I needed it.
- The more you put in the more you will get out...
- Try think in advance things you need, it always helps along the way.
- Asking questions helps you out! The more questions you ask the more information you learn!!!

PPD1
Wednesday 28th April
I felt I achieved alot more from this weeks PPD module. I steamed Edric's fabric and cut round his scarves, I then overlocked them and double hemmed them so they looked professional. Edric was really happy with my work.
I then scanned some of Edric's work as I figured, get as much out of this module as you put in!!
Found out about Sticker machine!!! (this could be very useful for our crafts package for the Interdiscerplinary and other modules)

Leeds Art Gallery
Yesterday after finishing at uni I walked down to Leeds art Gallery as I heard there was a few contemporary pieces of clothing in there. The dress above was a dress made from red elastic, as the model put on the dress it got stretched and this represents that all models shouldn't just be one size, they are all shapes and sizes. This piece really inspired me!
There was also some other pieces that were made from metal. A skirt and a bodice, they were inspired by armour, but meant for underwear. The bodice has feathers on, the contrast of the metal and feathers represented playfulness.
I found the gallery really interesting and it was useful looking at other exhibition clothes as my maxi skirt for interdisciplinary is going to be an exhibit piece.

PPD1
PPD1 - Wednesday 21st April
Having been briefed for the new module PPD1, we were paired up with our 3rd year to become their assistant for the next few weeks.
I started by getting shown the 3rd year studio which looked very hectic as they are all piecing together their final collections and pieces. Edric (my 3rd year) then took me down to the printing rooms to show me what he has been doing so far. I then got asked to steam and wash his fabric which was quite exciting. I have had my induction but haven't got round to doing anything down there but will definitely be useful for the rest of my time at uni.
Edric then asked me to go collect a few pictures from Dia de los Muertos which translates to 'A Day of The Dead' which his project was based on. I found this really interesting as it is something i've never heard of. Its a holiday in Mexico in which they celebrate life of their dead relatives. In which they have lots of food, music, they wear masks (Edric is using this idea for his photoshop which I really liked).
I then got sent out to buy the materials for paper mache to start making the masks for the photoshoot. Getting sent out to go and collect things, was quite exciting because if you was in the industry this is what you would have to do on a day to day basis. Find materials, trimmings anything that the designer might require.
I started papermaching balloons ready for the masks, this proved very time consuming. i then came up with the idea of modrocking the masks, which will then be shaped into a mask shape and it only takes 15 minutes and not long to dry. This is the advantage of having and assistant or helper, they can have over ideas that you might not even thought of.

What I have learned from Wed 21st April -
- How important it is to be organised, this helps you not stress out and be on top of your work.
- Have a diary and write down anything, that needs doing completing, finishing off, then you will not have to use all your brain energy of thinking 'what have I got to do next?'
- To start applying for your placement early, one of the 3rd years advised me as there is so many people yet only limited places that you will achieve something from.

Interdisciplinary Module...
Having completed Creative Design Practises, I am really excited to start the new module and excited about trying out and experimenting samples over Easter Break. In this module I think i will be able to show a lot of creativity as this module is very contemporary. I am happy with the technique that I picked however it was very hard to decide as I liked a lot of the words given.
Very excited about this one...
